National Senior Certificate (NSC)

Have you completed Grade 12 but did not achieve the desired results or maybe you failed a subject or two.  Don't despair we are able to assist you.

Why should you choose Newton College?

Learners will register with the Department of Education as a NSC Part-Time Candidate. Newton College will provide the tuition for these learners. Tuition will cover the content in the CAPS curriculum and it will be covered over a period of 9-10 months. 

Class sizes are kept small: 12 -15 students max.  What are the benefits to small classes:

  • More interaction between educator and learner

  • Classes are focused

  • Educators build relations with students enabling early interventions if required.

NSC LEARNER ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
 

WHO SHOULD APPLY AS A NSC STUDENT?

  • Your SBA/CASS marks are still valid i.e you matriculated in the last 3 years.

  • You passed but you would like to improve your marks in order to meet the minimum entry requirements at a tertiary educational institution.

  • You failed a subject or two and need to rewrite in order to achieve your matric senior certificate

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • Set up an appointment with the institution.

  • Discuss your needs analysis with us.

  • We will advise on options available to you.

  • We will then issue you with a Proforma invoice.

  • If Proforma is accepted, admission documents are completed and a timetable generated.

  • Certified copy of your ID

  • Certified copy of your last results

  • ID Photos (x2)

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACCOUNT PAYER

  • Certified copy of the account payer ID

  • Certified copy of the account payer residential address

  • Certified copy of the account payer payslip

LECTURE TIMES
 
  • NSC classes are offered only during the day.

  • Lessons are an hour long with atleast one double period per week.

  • Classes run from 08h15 - 16h15

  • Three classes per week per subject

  • Lectures start from the second week of January each year and end the second week of October.​
