ADMISSION CRITERIA TO SC CERTIFICATE

Adult learners who are 21 years and older who have:
-
a General Education and Training Certificate (GETC); or
-
a Grade 9 school report (or the old standard seven). stating that they have passed Grade 9 or Standard 7; or
-
a recognised equivalent qualification obtained at NQF Level which requires two official languages.

Adult learners who are 21 years and older with an incomplete Senior Certificate qualification.

Adult learners who are 21 years and older with an incomplete National Senior Certificate
-
Only in exceptional cases, out of school youth, who are 18-21 years old and who could not complete their school education due to circumstances beyond their control, as verified by the Head of Department in the Provincial Education Department.

Adult candidates who are 21 years and older with an incomplete NSC may choose to complete the NSC, or convert to the Senior Certificate. Should the candidate choose to convert to the Senior Certificate, they may not revert to the NSC and attempt to complete the NSC qualification.

Adult candidates who have already obtained a qualification but wish to improve their results/status.
FULL TIME OPTION
This option has been made available for those learners who have the time available to study i.e. individuals who are currently not employed and those who are employed but work shifts.
The only subjects been offered as a full time option are:

English HL
-
Maths Literacy
-
Life Sciences
These classes are structured to run in the afternoons from 12 - 4pm Monday to Fridays. You will attend a minimum of 3 lessons per subject per week. Each lesson is one hour in duration.
You will enjoy teacher /student contact sessions which have proven to be very valuable. Revision and assessments will be exam focused ensuring your readiness for your final exams through the Department of Education.
If remedial classes are required, we would structure that into your schedule.
VIDEO SUPPORT OPTION
This option has been made available for those learners who have time constraints i.e. individuals who are currently employed and working a normal 9-5 shift.
You will receive a video package of the lessons done during the previous week. You will be required to work through the content in the video to ensure that you understand the content. This package has a minimum of 5 tutoring lessons per block (2 blocksper program) as part of your option.
Thereafter you can book a 1:1 session with a tutor as and when you need it. These 1:1 lessons are additional and will not form part of the package, you will have pay these fees as and when needed
SELF - STUDY OPTION
This option has been made available for those learners who have time and financial constraints .
You will receive a video package of the lessons done during the previous week. You will be required to work through the content in the video to ensure that you understand the content.
Thereafter you can book a 1:1 session with a tutor as and when you need it. These 1:1 lessons are not part of the package, you will have pay these fees as and when needed
