Frequently asked questions

What can Newton College offer me?

Newton College has offerings geared towards both towards people who need to rewrite matric and improve specific subject results. Maybe you just fall short of the university entry requirements for a course you are interested in. We have handpicked subjects for tuition to assist Business and Science streams to improve previous matric results for university entry. If you are a current student in Grade 10 -12 and just need some extra tuition, we can offer you assistance in our subject based tutoring offerings.

How do your programs work?

We have set timetables where specific Matric subjects are lectured daily by professional staff. Once you have chosen and registered for the subjects you would like to write exams for, you simply follow the existing timetable by showing up at the right time for class.

Do you cover Grade 10 and 11 subject material too?

While our program is directed to getting you to pass your Matric, we do understand that often times students don't have a solid foundation on which to write the Matric exam and your teacher will direct you through the required grade 10 and 11 content to assist in building your understanding.

How many hours are given to the subjects I can choose to study with you?

Given that Newton College is a "fast track" college, our programs cover the content required to pass your matric. The total amount of tuition depends on the school year, but generally you will get 36 -39 weeks of tuition. Each lesson is 1 hour long. There are also multiple sessions per subject each week. PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE WE COVER CORE CONTENT FROM GRADE 10 -12, WE ARE NOT OFFERING ACCELERATED FET QUALIFICATIONS. Our programs are aimed at "matric rewrites" and existing students needing tutoring.

What happens at the end of the time of study with Newton College?

By the time your course of study is complete with us, we assist you in registering as a private candidate at the Department of Education.
Once registered at the Department you will receive your timetable for dates on your exams. From there you pass your Matric and we celebrate with you!
